Installation: Begin by shutting off the water supply, starting with the bottom ball valve. Ensure both ball valves on the 765-1 are closed. Manually turn on the sprinkler controller, then unscrew the top nut and remove the brass canopy. Remove the old Bonnet & Poppet, using a wrench if necessary. Assemble the new parts by inserting the new poppet and placing the O-Ring around the Bonnet. Hand-tighten the Bonnet into the PVB unit, then replace the Canopy and tighten the nut using a wrench. Finally, open the water supply side ball valve first, followed by the second ball valve.

Note: Avoid forcing parts together as they should fit freely. Excessive force can lead to damage and prevent proper assembly. In most cases, tools are not required, and hand-tightening is sufficient. If the bonnet part is difficult to tighten, apply the included grease on threading. For added grip, the two pits on the outer ring of the bonnet part can be used with a large wrench.

The Bonnet & Poppet kit is designed to break in the event of ice formation within the sprinkler system to protect it from extensive damage. Prior to icy conditions, ensure the water inside the system is drained to prevent harm. This kit acts as a final safety measure.

Compatibility: Please note that the size designation of 1" and 1-1/4" refers to the original 765 valve model, not the outside diameter of the bonnet parts. This Bonnet and Poppetr Repair Kit is approximately 2" in diameter for FEBCO 765 models.

Unscrew the top nut, remove the brass canopy, and replace the old parts with the new ones. Secure the bonnet part and canopy by hand-tightening and reattach the top nuts.
